History Of Castle In The Sky.

Long ago, where time was not recorded, a young woman's life hung in the unnatural balance of the dead and those living. Her appearance, the day, the cause of this state, have all been forgotten but not the result of this state for those who have seen it do not forget it, while some never leave what was created. For the result of this woman's state, her will and strength of creativity, imagination, dreams, lead to a word where those who fell into a profound state of unconsciousness. These people so very much like the woman herself when she fell into the same state, could not be awakened, failed to respond normally to pain, light or sound, nor did they have sleep-wake cycles or take voluntary actions. Today, these people that are in this state of coma are described as comatose.

However, back then, the first woman to have fallen into a state of coma was exceptionally creative and had grand dreams. It was she who created the floating lands with her own life. While she drifted through nothingness, she formed from her legs that had carried her through many journeys and adventures the lands of Migiashi and Hidariashi. From her arms which had wrote down the very dreams she wished she could have achieved, the lands of Migiude and Hidarite were born. Finally, from her head which contained the very mind that had thought of her dreams, her wishes, the very lands that it too was used to make, the land of Kashira.

These lands became the home, be it temporary or permanent, for those who had fallen into the same state as she, the state of a coma. Those who fell into R.E.M. sleep, the stage of sleep most associated with dreaming, became lost in the worlds of nothingness, far from what had become the Castle In The Sky, the lands that stay above all living and conscious beings but never seen. To protect those from the worlds of nothingness, the First Woman, the one who made the land, made the world so that those within it hardly ever felt tired. She also left it those who became known as Shinigami to lead the ones who had lost their life in the real world while in the Castle In The Sky to permanent homes instead of the usual temporary. They were also to guide those who were to leave the world because they dreamed within a dream.
